Birdlife At Etosha National Park

This is an ideal spot for wildlife photographers, being able to capture rare bird species through your lens must be on their wish list because it is definitely on mine!

All weather especially, Summers being a top-notch time period for experiencing birds in their action, Etosha National Park is the best for you! Etosha is home to 340 bird species all-around including migratory ones, making it one and only vast animal sanctuary on the globe. It is also known as one of the largest flamingo breeding grounds in the world. When Summer rain hits the Etosha pans, turning the dry lands into an attractive seasonal lake, you can experience the migratory and wetland species sobering up on the lakes, adding to one of the most unique Etosha experiences for you. Namibian specials include Bare-cheeked babbler, violet wood-hope, Carp’s tit, Monterio’s hornbill, rock runner, and Rüppel’s parrot. Record-breaking species are the ostrich as the world’s largest bird and the kori bustard, which is the heaviest flying bird. Did I mention that there can be eight species of owl sighted after sunset? Including different types of eagles and goshawks.

This isn’t all of it, there’s much more left for you to add to your wildlife bucket list. More other elusive and endangered species at Etosha include the black-faced impala, which can be seen around Dolomite Camp. Don’t forget to download the Etosha app and visit their official website for booking your accommodation beforehand! Their application makes your wandering around wildlife habitats much easier for you, you will be able to navigate and learn about the animal around you through the app.
